Hello, friends.
Not even two weeks into the 🍊💩🤡’s new reign of terror and there are literally planes falling out of the sky. There is so much going on that it’s impossible to keep track of and when true journalists like Jim Acosta, Dan Rather, and Norah O’Donnell are saying that mainstream news has been compromised, you’ve come to the place we’ve been earning about. It’s going to get worse.
But there’s hope. There is always hope.
The act of parenting, of teaching, and writing/creating proves that there’s hope.
Let’s get into this week’s update.
Welcome to the 107th installment of Gauthic Times, the newsletter about my writing, my life, and strange fans. And Legos.
Supporting creators is so important right now. As such, I would love if you became a paid-Patron on my Patreon.
Paid-Patrons get exclusive details about works-in-progress including the actual names of my works-in-progress and not just codenames. I also show art that I do.
The lowest tier for Patreon right now is $1 but at $5/month, we’re looking at some serious help.
If every subscriber or reader of this newsletter, or every social media follower I have, became a Patron, I could write more and pay my bills better.
The same would happen if they bought copies of my books.
You can also buy me a coffee through Ko-Fi.
Grab Echoes on the Pond if you haven’t already. If you’ve read Echoes on the Pond, please consider reviewing on Amazon or Goodreads, and wherever else books are sold and reviewed.
You can also get my collection Catalysts or my novellas Alice on the Shelf and Shadowed.
Anyway, let’s go!

Project: Amusement Park hit page 557 in its edits. That’s 125 pages left to edit. On the one hand, I feel like there’s so much story left to read through, but on the other I also know there’s not that much more. What’s left is all the Big Important Stuff that leads to the end of the novel.
As I’m going through the novel, I’m really happy that I’m enjoying it so much. There’s definitely revisions/rewriting needed but it’s probably the best thing I’ve written so far.
I’m still waiting for some word on Project: Monster from any of the agents or the publisher that I’ve queried or submitted to. I’ve also attempted some pitch threads on BlueSky recently. I need to look into other agents and continue querying for not just Project: Monster but also Project: MG Space Adventure I.

I was driving home from the care facility my father is currently staying at this morning. He’s doing well and right now my big move is to convince him to go someplace that’s better for him than his apartment. Everything can happen if he agrees. But that’s not what I’m going to write about. On the drive home on the highway, a pickup truck drove past me. They had stickers in the rear window, which is no surprise these days. I immediately gleamed into the vinyl Yoda sticker. Not Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, but actual, 900-year-old Jedi Master and recluse Yoda!
My kinda person, driving around with Yoda on his back window.
Right next to Yoda was a sticker that says, Just the Tip…I Promise. In between the two phrases is a bullet. It was similar to this:

Only the vinyl was white, like Yoda’s.
Am I wrong, or does the two vinyl stickers scream of contradiction?
I mean, look, all people are walking contradictions. I have them, you have them, etc., but when you’re trying to sell your brand via decals on your car, I think having a sexual innuendo threatening violence and a Jedi Master who preaches peace is just weird.
As time has passed, it’s been strange to see so many supposed Star Wars fans who fetishize the Empire. I mean, I get it, Darth Vader looks cool. He’s powerful. But he’s the villain. The Bad Guy. Yeah, yeah, he’s “redeemed” at the end, but George Lucas went to great pains to make sure we knew that when Anakin Skywalker fell to the Dark Side, he was not the sweet kid Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi found on Tatooine. Obi-Wan himself saw a hologram of Anakin “killing younglings.”
Yet, here we are. Celebrating violence with high caliber bullets next to Yoda, the great Jedi.
I don’t get it, man. I just don’t get it.

I have to sell some stuff and I’m not even entirely sure what to do about that. Between G and I, we have many Lego sets that I think are ready to be parted with. I’ll keep a few but because buying a house now looks like a more difficult thing than it did five years ago just before the pandemic, we need to make room. I think I could safely say that we have over 100 Lego sets ranging from Star Wars (of course) to Ninjago and many, many in between.
I think I’ll be looking into places to try to sell them. I may have to rebuild them in order to do so, which could be fun, but I hope I can do away with them quickly.
Then I think this February vacation I’ll be doing another book purge. Every few years I try to go through and do away with books and other things that I don’t really have the space for or the desire to keep.
Because I live in Southeastern Massachusetts, in the armpit of the state, I’ll be looking at places in Rhode Island and Boston areas. If you’re interested in some Lego sets to buy, hit me up. The sets are from the last ten years.

Well, I think I’m done with today’s update. It was a little all over the place, but so am I these days. Thank you so much for subscribing, reading, and for your support!
If you’d like to see what I could do if I wrote full-time, share this newsletter with others and consider a paid subscription.
You can also tip/donate on Ko-Fi.
Of course, you could also become a Patron on my Patreon, which has a lot more information about my works-in-progress and the books I’ll be querying, including titles and some simple, non-spoiler details.
Get my collection Catalysts, my novellas Alice on the Shelf and Shadowed, and definitely order Echoes on the Pond, out now!
If you haven’t left a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or anyplace else for Echoes on the Pond, please consider doing so. This greatly helps sell copies.
And maybe call your local brick-and-mortar bookstore and demand they carry it! I’ll even sign copies! Well, if they’re local to me. That means Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and maybe some of the other New England states.
Thank you for subscribing!
